Magnetic cases/holsters are not recommended, by Apple, for use with the iPhone!!!!! I too wanted to use a magnetic case for my first iPhone, but was hesitant for fear of affecting any of the phones electronics. When questioning apple tech support (who did not have an answer) about the issue, I was transferred to an apple “Class II Engineer” who promptly advised me to AVOID magnetic cases. Hope this helps.

I bought this for my iPod Touch, thinking it would be a nice form-fitting “folio”-style case for the protection of the device while in my pocket. Clearly, that’s not what the case is designed for. The device wobbles around while inside, so it is not snug at all, too bulky for an in-pocket case. (The clip also adds bulk; I don’t know what I was thinking, a case with clip doesn’t belong in your pocket, but that’s my fault.) I give this 3 stars because I think it appears well-made, but the description should say it is not a form-fitting case, I think it might even be designed to accommodate other devices. For iPhone users who want a holster, this may be the product for you, but I’ll be returning it because it is not for me.

The small leather connector piece broke within a month of owning. Since I used this lightly and carefully, it is obviously not a well made product.

The “leather” has already started to wear off of the belt clip, and the belt clip detached itself from the pouch. With the leather worn off, it looks like there is cardboard underneath. If this is leather, it’s the thinnest, cheapest stuff they could find.

This is a well made case, BUT not suitable for the iPhone 3GS. The magnet(s) in the case interfere with the compass. Hopefully, they do not affect anything else!
